Salary/Rate: £700-900 per day inside IR35

We have an exciting opportunity now available with one of our sector-leading consultancy clients! They are currently looking for a skilled Aladdin Data Cloud (ADC) SME to sit at the intersection of their global Asset Manager client.

Job Responsibilities/Objectives
In this role, you will serve as the primary operational and technical point of contact for high-volume inquiries, data requirements, and analytical requests originating from Portfolio Managers, Quantitative Researchers, Risk Managers, and Investment Operations. You will bring deep domain knowledge of BlackRock's Aladdin platform architecture, Snowflake Data Cloud constructs, and asset management data models.
Your primary mission will be to establish order, rapidly triage, answer, and resolve complex data queries while translating business requirements into scalable Aladdin Data Cloud solutions.

1. Triage & Stakeholder Support (Primary Focus)

• Serve as the principal technical triage point for all incoming inquiries related to the Aladdin Data Cloud (ADC) platform from front-, middle-, and back-office teams.
• Classify, prioritize, and track high-volume business inquiries (e.g., schema clarifications, data discrepancy checks, lineage queries, and performance bottlenecks) to ensure swift resolution within defined SLAs.
• Interpret complex queries regarding Aladdin data schemas-including positions, trades, risk analytics, ESG metrics, market data, and accounting records-and provide clear, business-contextualized answers.

2. Technical & Data Domain Expertise

• Utilise deep knowledge of the underlying Snowflake architecture (shares, warehouses, secure views, semi-structured JSON/variant data) powering the Aladdin Data Cloud environment.
• Write, optimise, and debug complex SQL queries to help business users inspect data, build custom ad-hoc views, and validate results.
• Act as a bridge between business users and internal Data Engineering / BlackRock Aladdin Support to ensure technical escalations are clear, actionable, and resolved efficiently.

3. Enablement, Governance & Documentation

• Develop and maintain a searchable internal knowledge base, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and self-service documentation to reduce recurring user questions.
• Conduct training sessions for business analysts, quantitative researchers, and report developers on how to query ADC safely and efficiently.
• Ensure data consumption strictly complies with enterprise data governance, entitlement models, and security protocols.

4. Pattern Recognition & Platform Enhancement

• Analyse support query patterns to identify recurring pain points, data quality gaps, or missing data sets within the ADC pipeline.
• Partner with Data Engineers and Solution Architects to translate business support feedback into product backlogs and platform automation improvements.

Required Skills/Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following:

• Experience in Investment Technology, Data Engineering, or Data Operations within an Asset Management or Buy-Side Institution.
• Hands-on experience with BlackRock Aladdin Data Cloud (ADC) or legacy Aladdin Data Warehouse (ADW), with a proven understanding of BlackRock?s underlying data models (e.g., Green Package, Risk Analytics, Position/Trade tables).
• Proficiency in Snowflake: Demonstrated expertise writing optimised SQL on Snowflake, understanding data sharing, virtual warehouses, and zero-copy cloning.
