Job Responsibilities/Objectives


You will be responsible for creating detailed designs and technical plans for photovoltaic (PV) systems, ensuring that they are efficient, cost-effective, and comply with relevant regulations.

1. Develop detailed electrical and mechanical designs for solar PV power plants, including layout, wiring, and component selection (modules, inverters, transformers).
2. Use simulation software (e.g. AutoCAD, PVsyst) to assess system performance, energy output, and efficiency based on site conditions.
3. Create and maintain technical documentation, including single-line diagrams, cable schedules, and bill of materials.
4. Collaborate with project managers, civil and structural engineers, and procurement teams to ensure smooth project execution from design to commissioning.
5. Prepare cost estimates and propose materials and technology to optimise cost efficiency.
6. Monitor construction and installation to ensure adherence to the design, and resolve any issues related to the design during execution.


Required Skills/Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following:

1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
2. Experience in solar PV design and renewable energy projects.
3. Familiarity with large-scale utility and commercial solar projects. Strong understanding of PV systems, electrical engineering principles, and grid interconnection.
4. Ability to perform shading analysis and energy yield calculations.
5. Proficiency in software tools like AutoCAD, PVsyst, SketchUp, and MS Office.


Desirable Skills/Experience
Although not essential, the following skills are desired by the client:

1. Experience with hybrid energy systems (solar storage).
2. Knowledge of power electronics, battery storage systems, and grid integration.
3. Certification in solar PV design.
