Job Title: Finance-led Technology Project Manager
Location: London, UK
Salary/Rate: £400 - £460 (Outside IR35)
Start Date: Immediate Start
Job Type: 6 Month Contract

We are seeking an experienced Finance-led Technology Project Manager to lead two high-profile, technology-enabled Finance initiatives for a large professional services organisation.

The role will take ownership of a global E-Invoicing project, ensuring statutory inbound and outbound invoicing requirements are delivered across multiple regions within mandatory deadlines. The role will also support a Revenue Life Cycle Technology and Tools programme, delivering solutions designed to help Finance teams improve efficiency, reduce billing costs and optimise billing cycle times.

This is a complex, cross-functional delivery role involving Technology, Finance, Tax, regional offices and third-party technology vendors. The successful candidate will bring strong governance, structured planning and the ability to maintain momentum across multiple regional implementations.

You will be an experienced Project Manager who combines structured delivery discipline with sound, pragmatic judgement. You will be comfortable operating across business and technology teams, creating clarity in complex environments, building alignment among senior stakeholders and suppliers, and keeping delivery on track against fixed regulatory and business deadlines.

Job Responsibilities/Objectives

  • Own and maintain the integrated E-Invoicing project plan, covering regional milestones, statutory deadlines, testing, deployment and post-go-live warranty periods.
  • Coordinate Technology, Finance, Tax, regional office, vendor and programme workstreams.
  • Manage project governance, including Project Board reporting, RAID management, approvals, change control, escalations and exception reporting.
  • Track scope, budget and resources, ensuring impacts on timelines, requirements and costs are assessed and managed through appropriate governance processes.
  • Drive requirements confirmation, design approval, build readiness, test planning, UAT, deployment readiness and service transition.
  • Work with Finance and change stakeholders to assess process impacts and coordinate communications, training and operational readiness.
  • Manage engagement with external vendors, including delivery coordination, statement-of-work activity and issue escalation.
  • Maintain complete, controlled and audit-ready project documentation that can be reused for future implementations.
  • Support the delivery and acceptance of technology-enabled tools supporting the Revenue Life Cycle programme.
  • Coordinate multiple regional implementations while maintaining visibility of dependencies, risks, issues and milestones.
  • Ensure project activity remains aligned with mandatory regulatory and statutory deadlines.

Required Skills/Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Proven experience managing complex, technology-enabled business change projects involving multiple business, technology and supplier stakeholders.
  • Strong project planning, governance, financial tracking, RAID management and senior stakeholder reporting capability.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation and stakeholder-management skills.
  • The ability to translate technical, regulatory and process considerations into clear delivery actions.
  • Experience coordinating requirements, design approval, testing, UAT, deployment readiness and service transition across multiple implementations.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to maintain documentation suitable for audit and governance purposes.
  • A pragmatic delivery style and the confidence to maintain momentum against fixed deadlines while managing scope, budget, risk and dependencies.
  • A strong delivery focus, with a practical approach to maintaining momentum and ensuring agreed actions are followed through.
  • The ability to manage multiple governance cycles, reporting requirements and project activities simultaneously.
  • Confident written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders and governance forums.
  • Proactive ownership of project information, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and quality.
  • A collaborative working style and the ability to work effectively as part of a wider delivery team.
  • The ability to operate effectively during periods of organisational or programme change.
  • A solution-focused approach to resolving issues without introducing unnecessary complexity or bureaucracy.
  • Strong stakeholder-management skills, with the confidence to build productive relationships and appropriately follow up actions.
  • Competence using Microsoft 365 applications, including Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Experience delivering complex projects within Legal, Professional Services or another complex corporate environment.
  • Experience delivering Finance technology or Finance systems projects.
  • Experience working with SAP or other enterprise Finance platforms and integrations.
  • Experience delivering projects involving regulatory deadlines or statutory compliance requirements.
  • Experience working within hybrid Agile and Waterfall delivery environments.
  • Knowledge of testing governance, service transition, operational readiness and post-go-live warranty management.
  • Experience working with Finance, Tax and external technology vendors.
  • Previous exposure to E-Invoicing, statutory invoicing mandates or global Finance transformation.
  • A recognised project-management qualification, although substantial equivalent experience will also be considered.
