Location: London - 3 Days a week onsite
Salary/Rate: £700 - £800 Inside IR35

Company Introduction

Our client is looking for an experienced Private Markets Data SME to join a high-profile data-focused transformation programme in London. This is an excellent opportunity for a data specialist with strong private markets knowledge to work closely with senior stakeholders, data engineering teams, platform vendors and leading data providers.

The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping data requirements, supporting integrations and ensuring private markets data is accurately understood, managed and delivered across the organisation.

Job Responsibilities/Objectives

You will be responsible for defining, challenging and supporting the delivery of private markets data requirements, working across business and technical teams to ensure data is fit for purpose.

1. Review, challenge and elaborate data and reporting requirements, translating business needs into clear and actionable data requirements.

2. Manage and support data integrations from multiple sources, working with data engineering teams to ensure interfaces and data flows are clearly understood.

3. Provide detailed guidance on data definitions, sample data, data structures and SQL queries, helping technical teams investigate and resolve data-related issues.

4. Work closely with data platform vendors and external data providers, facilitating discussions and resolving complex data queries and integration challenges.

5. Engage with senior stakeholders and business teams, ensuring requirements, data definitions and reporting needs are clearly understood and effectively delivered.

6. Support the development and validation of data models and entity relationship diagrams (ERDs) to ensure data is structured appropriately for business and reporting requirements.

Required Skills/Experience

The ideal candidate will have the following:

1. Deep experience within private markets, with strong knowledge of private markets data, reporting requirements and investment data.

2. Strong data analysis and data modelling skills, including experience creating or working with entity relationship diagrams (ERDs).

3. Strong SQL skills, with the ability to query, explore, validate and investigate complex datasets.

4. Proven experience working with data integrations, data interfaces and multiple data sources, ideally within an investment or financial services environment.

5. Excellent senior stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work confidently across business, technical and vendor teams.

6. The ability to translate complex data concepts into clear business language and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Desirable Skills/Experience

Although not essential, the following skills are desired by the client:

1. Experience across Private Equity, Private Credit, Private Debt, Real Assets, Infrastructure or Real Estate data.

2. Experience working with private markets data providers, investment platforms or third-party data vendors.

3. Knowledge of fund, portfolio, investment, investor, performance or transaction data and associated reporting requirements.

4. Experience supporting data transformation, migration, integration or platform implementation programmes within asset management or financial services.
