Overview

We are currently recruiting for an experienced SC Cleared React Developer to join a high-profile UK Public Sector digital transformation programme.

This is a long-term contract opportunity, initially running through to 31 March 2027, with potential for further extension.

You will join an established technical delivery team, contributing to the development and enhancement of modern digital applications used within a large-scale public sector environment.

The successful candidate will have strong hands-on experience with React, JavaScript/TypeScript and REST APIs, alongside a solid understanding of modern front-end development, automated testing and Agile delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance modern, responsive applications using React
• Build robust and maintainable solutions using JavaScript and TypeScript
• Integrate front-end applications with REST APIs
• Write clean, scalable and well-tested code
• Work closely with developers, testers, product teams and wider stakeholders
• Contribute to technical discussions and development decisions
• Follow established development standards, processes and best practices
• Work effectively within an Agile, enterprise-scale delivery environment
• Support continuous improvement across development practices and technical solutions

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong commercial experience developing applications with React
• Strong JavaScript / TypeScript skills
• Experience working with REST APIs
• Solid front-end development experience
• Experience with automated testing
• Experience working within enterprise-scale development environments
• Strong understanding of Agile development methodologies
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Experience working within public sector, government or other regulated environments would be advantageous
• Active UK SC Clearance - essential

Experience with any of the following would be beneficial:

• Pega
• Pega Constellation
• React SDK
• GDS / UK Government digital services
• CI/CD pipelines
• Cloud technologies
• DevOps environments

Clearance Requirement

Active UK SC Clearance is mandatory for this position.
