Job Title: Senior AWS DevOps Engineer
Location: London - 3 to 5 days per week on-site
Rate: £500 per day inside IR35
Start Date: Immediately! *Candidates applying must be able to start immediately or within 2 weeks of the offer.

We?re working with a leading UK-based energy and services organisation that supports millions of customers across the country. They are investing heavily in technology and cloud transformation and are looking for an experienced Senior AWS DevOps Engineer to join their engineering team. You will be required to go into the office a minimum of 3 days a week.

The Role

This is a hands-on engineering position for someone who enjoys building, automating and troubleshooting AWS environments rather than simply providing technical oversight.

You?ll take ownership of solutions from design through to production, working closely with development, architecture, security and operations teams to deliver secure, scalable and reliable cloud platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build and support secure, highly available AWS environments

• Develop and maintain Terraform and/or CloudFormation infrastructure

• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab or AWS tooling

• Work with Docker, ECS and/or EKS

• Automate deployments and infrastructure using Python, Bash or PowerShell

• Implement AWS networking, IAM, security, monitoring and logging

• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and production issues through to resolution

• Support cloud migration and ongoing platform optimisation

• Contribute to technical design, documentation and continuous improvement

What We?re Looking For

• Strong hands-on AWS DevOps experience

• Advanced Terraform and/or CloudFormation skills

• Strong CI/CD and automation experience

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes/ECS/EKS

• Good understanding of AWS networking, security and IAM

• Strong Linux and scripting experience

• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving ability

• Someone proactive who can work independently and take end-to-end ownership

AWS certifications, hybrid-cloud experience and exposure to Azure/GCP are desirable but not essential.
