Job Title: Senior Network Architect
Location: Remote - occasion travel to Reading, Peterborough or Bradford
Rate: Up to £730 per day - Inside IR35
Start Date: 09/10/2023
Job Type: 4 week initial contract with extension for a 6 month project

We have an exciting opportunity now available with one of our sector-leading telecommunications clients! They are currently looking for a skilled Senior Network Architect to join their team for an initial 4-week contract to be extended for 6 months

You will work as a B2B Architect within the B2B Engineering team. This involves undertaking service and platform Architecture and Design work in support of B2B projects.

B2B and L2 VPN experience are a must.

Job Responsibilities/Objectives

1. Acting as a technical design authority on B2B network projects.
2. Production of E2E Service HLDs for the 3 main connectivity services (Internet, L3 VPN, L2 VPN).
3. Production of B2B Platform HLDs for each of the 3 main connectivity services.
4. Production of B2B Platform LLDs for each of the 3 main connectivity services.

Required Skills/Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following:

1. Substantial experience in developing large-scale carrier network architectures and Business Services obtained either with a network operator or equipment supplier.
2. Substantial experience in technical ownership and development of solutions in a complex business environment.
3. Experience with Ethernet & MPLS based products - IPVPN, Ethernet VPN etc.
4. Experience with Overlay technologies - IPSec VPN, SDWAN etc.
5. Experience with routing protocols BGP, OSPF, ISIS, EVPN, Segment Routing.
6. Experience developing and documenting platform-specific design and configurations (HLD / LLD etc) that align to requirements and the wider e2e solution context.
7. Experience chairing technical meetings on complex topics, drive decisions and document the outcome.
8. Telco experience useful or Internet service provider.

Desirable Skills/Experience

1. Understanding of network orchestration and associated technologies.
2. Experience on Nokia platforms.
3. Understanding of B2B-related BSS touchpoints.
4. Experience of undertaking technology assessments.
5. Basic understanding of financing and budgeting.
6. Understanding of operational responsibilities relevant to B2B services.
7. Understanding of the organisation structure within a typical service provider environment.
