Job Title: Azure Data Architect
Location: London, UK (1 - 2 day's onsite per week)
Day Rate: £375 - £400 (Outside IR35)
Start Date: Late July 2026
Job Type: 6 Month Contract

We are currently supporting a key client on the appointment of an experienced Azure Data Architect to join a major data transformation programme within the Insurance sector.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a leading role in shaping enterprise-wide data architecture, helping to deliver scalable, modern Azure-based data platforms that will underpin analytics, reporting and future business growth.

The Role

As the Azure Data Architect, you will take ownership of designing and defining end-to-end data architecture across a large-scale transformation programme. You will work closely with engineering, analytics and business teams to establish scalable, secure and future-proof data solutions.

Job Responsibilities/Objectives

• Design end-to-end enterprise data architecture
• Define data models, integration frameworks and enterprise data standards
• Lead the architecture of modern Azure data platforms, including Data Lake, Lakehouse and Data Warehouse environments
• Drive the design of scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT frameworks
• Establish governance, data quality and security standards across the data platform
• Provide architectural leadership across technical and business teams
• Engage with senior stakeholders and act as a trusted advisor throughout the transformation programme

Required Skills/Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following:

• Proven experience working as a Data Architect within the Insurance sector
• Strong understanding of modern data platforms, Data Warehousing and Lakehouse architecture
• Experience designing Azure-based data solutions
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Experience leading enterprise-scale data transformation initiatives
• Azure certifications
• Exposure to AI, Machine Learning or advanced analytics platforms
