Day Rate: £400 - £425 (Inside IR35)
Start Date: April
Job Type: 6 Month Contract

We're looking for a Backend Engineer with strong AWS serverless experience to join a growing engineering team building scalable, data-driven platforms.

This is a hands-on role where you'll design and develop event-driven integrations, build robust APIs, and help deliver secure, high-performing backend services in a modern cloud environment.

Job Responsibilities/Objectives

• Building serverless, event-driven integrations on AWS to ingest and process data
• Developing backend services and APIs to power application features and core logic
• Automating infrastructure using CloudFormation and delivering via CI/CD pipelines
• Improving and maintaining security across the data platform (ODS)
• Supporting and mentoring developers within the engineering ecosystem

Required Skills/Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following:

• Strong experience with AWS serverless technologies (Lambda, Step Functions, API Gateway)
• Solid Node.js backend development experience
• Experience with event-driven architectures and distributed systems
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and DevOps practices
• Experience working with data platforms or large-scale data processing
• Good understanding of cloud security best practices
