Job Title: Business Analyst
Location: Glasgow (2/3 x per week on-site)
Salary/Rate: Up to £340 per day
Start Date: Feb / Mar 2026
Job Type: 12-month contract (Inside IR35)

Company Introduction:
We are currently recruiting for a skilled Business Analyst with financial services industry experience to join our client for an exciting contract.

Responsibilities:

• Stakeholder Engagement & Requirements Analysis
  Proactively engage with CIOs, Business Units, Functions, application owners, and delegated stakeholders to understand business needs, priorities, and pain points. Translate strategic objectives into clear, structured business and functional requirements.

• Business & Data Analysis
  Analyse processes, data flows, and system interactions to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities. Leverage enterprise data and metadata platforms (e.g., Alation, DQ Store, Open Lineage) to support data governance, quality, and lineage transparency.

• Issue Analysis & Resolution Support
  Act as a key point of coordination for incidents and escalations, performing root-cause analysis from a business and process perspective. Work closely with technical teams to ensure issues are clearly defined, prioritised, and resolved in alignment with business impact.

• Decision Support & Advisory
  Provide insights and recommendations to stakeholders based on data analysis, trends, and impact assessments. Support decision-making by articulating risks, dependencies, and trade-offs in a clear, business-oriented manner.

• Tracking, Reporting & Communication
  Define and maintain KPIs, dashboards, and reports to track delivery progress, data quality metrics, and stakeholder outcomes. Communicate status, risks, and outcomes clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Change Enablement & Adoption
  Support change management by ensuring solutions are well understood, documented, and aligned with business workflows. Facilitate workshops, walkthroughs, and knowledge-sharing sessions to drive adoption and continuous improvement.

Competencies:

• Knowledge of Enterprise Data & Metadata Technologies
  Working knowledge of platforms such as Alation, DQ Store, and Open Lineage, with the ability to translate their technical capabilities into business value, governance outcomes, and process improvements.

• Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills
  Strong ability to deconstruct complex problems, identify root causes, and propose pragmatic, data-driven solutions that balance business needs with technical constraints.

• Stakeholder Management & Communication
  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders, facilitate alignment across teams, and present complex information clearly and confidently.

• Escalation & Conflict Management
  Proven capability to handle escalations involving challenging stakeholders by maintaining professionalism, managing expectations, and driving resolution through structured analysis and clear communication.

• Adaptability & Learning Agility
  Comfortable operating in dynamic environments with evolving priorities, technologies, and organisational structures. Able to quickly understand new domains and adjust approaches accordingly.

• Collaboration & Influence
  Strong collaborator who works effectively across business, data, and technology teams, influencing outcomes without direct authority and fostering a culture of shared ownership and continuous improvement.
