Job Responsibilities/Objectives

As a DevOps & Automation Engineer, you will design, implement, and maintain automation and infrastructure solutions across secure, enterprise-scale environments. Working alongside a collaborative team, you will help deliver reliable DevOps capabilities, improve deployment processes, and support continuous innovation across complex programmes.

1. Design, implement, and maintain DevOps and automation solutions to support secure infrastructure and application delivery.
2. Develop scripts, services, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using industry-standard automation tools.
3. Build, maintain, and optimise CI/CD pipelines to improve deployment efficiency and system reliability.
4. Troubleshoot and resolve issues across infrastructure, automation pipelines, and integrated systems.
5. Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable solutions while contributing to technical guidance and continuous improvement.

Required Skills/Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following:

1. Active eDV (Enhanced Developed Vetting) security clearance and experience working within secure, highly available enterprise environments

2. Strong hands-on experience with DevOps, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and automation tools such as Ansible and Terraform.

3. Experience with Microsoft and Linux technologies, along with scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, or Python.

4. Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitLab or equivalent tools, with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

Desirable Skills/Experience
Although not essential, the following skills are desired by the client:

1. Experience with container technologies such as Kubernetes or similar orchestration platforms.
2. Knowledge of virtualisation technologies and enterprise infrastructure environments.
3. Experience working across on-premises, hybrid, or multi-cloud environments.
4. Understanding of Agile delivery methodologies (Scrum or Kanban), secure design principles, and technical solution documentation.
