Machine Operator - Press Boring Operator ( Auger Boring)
Position Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced Press Boring Machine Operator to join specialist auger boring and pipe jacking operations across Germany. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of drilling and jacking equipment used in civil engineering, tunnelling, and pipeline construction projects.
You will play a key role in ensuring high-quality execution, safe working practices, and successful delivery of complex underground infrastructure works.
This is a permanent position within mobile construction crews working on nationwide infrastructure projects.
You will be working on large-scale infrastructure and tunnelling-related projects delivered for a leading European civil engineering contractor known for high technical standards, strong project delivery, and complex underground construction works.
These are well-organised, safety-focused sites involving modern auger boring systems and demanding logistics operations.
Project Information
- Location: Nationwide, Germany
- Equipment: Press boring systems (steel pipes & pilot drilling)
- Pilot drilling length: up to 80 metres
- Working schedule: approx. 48 hours per week (5-day week)
- Occasional Saturday work depending on project requirements
Your Responsibilities
- Operation, control, and monitoring of press boring and drilling equipment
- Execution of drilling works in accordance with technical specifications and safety standards
- Maintenance, servicing, and minor repairs of machines and equipment
- Monitoring drilling processes and accurate documentation of work progress
- Compliance with all occupational health, environmental, and safety regulations
- Support with site setup, preparation, and material logistics
- Close collaboration with site managers, foremen, and other skilled trades on site
Your Profile
- Experience with press boring, horizontal drilling, or specialist civil engineering equipment
- Strong technical understanding and practical, hands-on skills
- Completed vocational training in construction, machine operation, or a similar field (preferred)
- Driving licence Class B, ideally CE
- High sense of responsibility and ability to work independently
- Resilient, flexible, and team-oriented
- Willingness to travel and work on changing construction sites across Germany
