Microsoft Intune / Entra Consultant

Job Title: Microsoft Intune / Entra Consultant (ADFS Decommission & MDM Migration PoC)
Location: United Kingsom (Remote)
Salary/Rate: £400 - £500 (Outside IR35)
Start Date: Immediately

We are seeking an experienced Microsoft Endpoint Management Consultant to support two key initiatives within our environment: an ADFS decommissioning project and a Mobile Device Management (MDM) Proof of Concept (PoC) transitioning from Ivanti Neurons (MobileIron) to Microsoft Intune.

Key Responsibilities

ADFS Decommissioning (Priority)

• Assess current ADFS environment and validate all dependencies
• Confirm no services or applications are reliant on ADFS
• Provide recommendations and support for safe decommissioning

Intune / Entra PoC Delivery

• Design and deliver a structured Microsoft Intune PoC within a production Microsoft 365 tenant
• Validate Intune capability against existing MobileIron deployment
• Assess integration with Entra ID Conditional Access and Microsoft Defender for Endpoint
• Evaluate device compliance, authentication flows, and application deployment
• Identify migration considerations, including legacy dependencies (Ivanti Access, ADFS)

Technical Scope

• Baseline Microsoft Intune configuration
• Windows Autopilot (zero-touch provisioning)
• Device enrolment: Windows, iOS, Android
• Device compliance and configuration policies
• Conditional Access integration with Entra ID
• Microsoft Defender for Endpoint integration (risk-based compliance)
• Endpoint security (BitLocker, firewall, account protection)
• Packaging and deployment of standard Windows applications
• Windows Autopatch configuration (OS, M365 Apps, Edge, Teams)

Testing & Validation

• Pilot enrolment across Windows, iOS, and Android devices
• Validation of policies and configurations
• Migration testing of representative devices from MobileIron to Intune

Engagement Details

• Remote delivery during business hours
• Work conducted within a production Microsoft 365 tenant
• Licensing, pilot users/devices, and administrative access provided

Out of Scope

• Full production rollout or migration
• Complex application packaging
• Organisation-wide policy deployment
• Third-party integrations
• Formal training or out-of-hours support

Requirements

• Proven experience with Microsoft Intune and Microsoft Entra ID
• Strong understanding of Conditional Access and endpoint security
• Experience migrating from MobileIron/Ivanti to Intune (desirable)
• Experience with ADFS environments and decommissioning
• Strong stakeholder communication skills
