Job Title: PACS Technical Consultant
Location: Remote work from EEA (preferably from Portugal or Spain)
Salary/Rate: According to experience
Start Date: 13/04/2026
Job Type: 6-month contract- likely to be extended

We are seeking an experienced PACS Technical Consultant to support the delivery of advanced medical imaging solutions within clinical environments. This is an exciting opportunity to work on impactful healthcare IT projects, contributing to the successful deployment and integration of PACS systems across hospital sites.

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong expertise in medical imaging technologies, system integration, and healthcare workflows.

Job Responsibilities/Objectives

  • Install, configure, and optimise PACS solutions (including storage, modality mapping, and lifecycle management)
  • Perform and validate data migrations
  • Support and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) using defined test scripts
  • Lead and support go-live activities, ensuring smooth system transitions
  • Produce and maintain clear, high-quality technical documentation
  • Collaborate with project managers, radiology teams, and IT stakeholders to ensure successful delivery

Required Skills/Experience

  • Proven experience in PACS implementation and support
  • Strong knowledge of DICOM standards and imaging workflows
  • Experience with RIS (Radiology Information Systems) and PACS integration
  • Working knowledge of HL7 messaging and healthcare interoperability
  • Solid understanding of Windows and/or Linux systems administration
  • Experience with databases and SQL
  • Expertise in data migration and validation processes
  • Familiarity with IHE Profiles
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Experience working within clinical or hospital environments

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Health Informatics, or related field
  • Certifications in AWS, HL7, or DICOM (desirable)
