Job Title:SC Cleared Senior Security Architect - Cloud Azure & Data Fabric
Location: UK based - remote (may require travel)
Salary/Rate: £450-500 per day inside IR35
Start Date: Immediate ideally
Job Type: Initial 6 month contract

Candidates must hold active SC Clearance.

An exciting opportunity with a leading consultancy delivering projects within the Public Sector. They are seeking an experienced SC Cleared Senior Security Architect with expertise in Azure and Data Fabric security.

Job Responsibilities/Objectives

The Security Architect will design, implement and govern secure architectures across cloud-native and hybrid environments, with a focus on Microsoft Azure and Data Fabric solutions.

Azure Security Architecture

• Design secure Azure architectures across IaaS, PaaS and SaaS.
• Develop secure landing zones, network segmentation, identity and access management (Azure AD, RBAC, PIM).
• Implement Azure security services including Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, Key Vault, managed identities and encryption.
• Secure Azure services including Data Lake, Synapse, Databricks, Cosmos DB and API Management.

Data Fabric Security

• Define security models for Data Fabric, Data Mesh, MDM, Data Quality and ETL/ELT platforms.
• Implement data lineage, classification, access controls and governance across hybrid/multi-cloud environments.
• Design security frameworks aligned to GDPR, ISO 27001 and NIST.
• Integrate security into data pipelines, catalogues and governance tools.

Risk & Compliance

• Conduct risk assessments, threat modelling and gap analysis.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and enterprise security standards.
• Lead security reviews, audits and remediation activities.

DevSecOps & Automation

• Embed security into CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (ARM, Bicep, Terraform).
• Automate monitoring, alerting and incident response using SIEM/SOAR.
• Promote secure coding, vulnerability management and patching best practices.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Advise business, IT and data teams on secure solution design and risk mitigation.
• Provide architectural guidance for cloud migration, data modernisation and integration initiatives.

Required Skills/Experience

• Active SC Clearance.
• Proven experience in Security Architecture, Cloud Security or Data Platform Security.
• Hands-on Azure security experience.
• Strong understanding of data governance, privacy and compliance.
• Experience with Data Fabric, Data Mesh, MDM and distributed data platforms.
• DevSecOps, automation and CI/CD security integration experience.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and documentation skills.

Preferred Certifications

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305)
• Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert (SC-100)
• CISSP, CISM, CCSP
• ISO 27001 Lead Auditor/Lead Implementer

Desirable Skills/Experience

• CIPP/E, CIPP/US or CDPSE
• IBM Certified Solution Architect - Data Fabric
• Certified DevSecOps Professional
• HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate
