Job Responsibilities/Objectives

• System Administration: Manage and administer IBM CICS (Customer Information Control System) environments, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of CICS regions and related components.
• Performance Optimisation: Monitor and optimise the performance of IBM CICS systems to ensure efficient resource utilisation, high availability, and optimal response times for online transactions. Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and solubility issues.
• System Integration: Integrate IBM CICS with other mainframe and distributed systems, middleware, databases, and applications to support seamless data exchange and business processes across the enterprise.
• Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce security controls, policies, and procedures to protect IBM CICS systems from unauthorised access, data breaches, and compliance violations. Ensure adherence to industry regulations and security best practices.
• Technical Support and Troubleshooting: Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for IBM CICS-related issues, incidents, and outages. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and third-party providers to diagnose and resolve complex problems and ensure uninterrupted operation of critical business systems.

Required Skills/Experience

• Installation and implementation of CICS and MQ and related tooling
• SMP/E and other z/OS management tools and methodologies
• JCL and possibly Rexx
• CICS /MQ technical system management
• CICS Monitoring
