Our leading consultancy client are seeking a Technical Project Manager with a strong engineering background in Java and AWS cloud technologies. The ideal candidate will manage end-to-end delivery of complex technical projects, work closely with cross-functional engineering teams, and ensure the successful implementation of scalable, cloud-native solutions.This is a hybrid role requiring 2 days a week onsite in Knutsford, and is offering an initial 6-month contract with a good chance of extension.

Job Responsibilities/Objectives

• Lead full project lifecycle - planning, estimation, execution, delivery, and post-release support
• Coordinate with engineering, QA, DevOps, architecture, and product teams
• Work closely with Java developers, solution architects, and cloud engineers
• Guide teams in modernizing legacy applications to cloud-native AWS solutions

Required Skills/Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following:

• Experience working with AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, S3, API Gateway, RDS, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, ECS/EKS
• Good experience as a Technical Project Manager, Delivery Manager, or Scrum Master
• Prior hands-on experience as a Java engineer or strong working knowledge of Java-based systems
• Strong Agile/Scrum knowledge; certification preferred (CSM, PSM, PMI-ACP)

Desirable Skills/Experience
Although not essential, the following skills are desired by the client:

• Understanding of microservices built on Java (Spring Boot preferred)
• Familiarity with DevOps tools - Git, Jenkins, Docker, Terraform/CloudFormation
• Ability to read technical documentation, troubleshoot high-level issues, and interface with developers
• .Proven track record managing cloud projects on AWS
