Location: London 3x a week
Salary/Rate: up to £367 Daily
Start Date: 15/08/26
Job Type: Initial 6 month contract inside IR35

Company Introduction

We are seeking an experienced Wintel Engineer with a strong background in Financial Services to support and enhance enterprise Windows-based infrastructure within a highly regulated environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and optimisation of Wintel platforms, ensuring high availability, security, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and support Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022).
• Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, PKI, and Azure AD.
• Support VMware virtualisation platforms and enterprise storage solutions.
• Deliver infrastructure upgrades, migrations, patching, and remediation activities.
• Monitor infrastructure performance, troubleshoot incidents, and provide 3rd line support.
• Ensure adherence to security, audit, regulatory, and operational risk requirements.
• Collaborate with application, security, network, and cloud teams to deliver infrastructure projects.
• Produce technical documentation and participate in disaster recovery and business continuity testing.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven Wintel Engineering experience within a Financial Services or banking environment.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and PKI.
• Experience supporting VMware vSphere environments.
• Familiarity with Azure, Microsoft 365, and hybrid cloud technologies.
• Experience with infrastructure monitoring, automation, and ITSM processes.
• Understanding of security and regulatory requirements within regulated organisations.
• Strong troubleshooting, stakeholder management, and communication skills.

Desirable

• Microsoft or VMware certifications.
• Experience with PowerShell scripting and infrastructure automation.
• Knowledge of SQL Server, backup technologies, and disaster recovery processes.
